There’s a long running joke（笑料) about how every single UK actor who’s ever walked has participated in the Harry Potter trilogy – apart from seven.

Christian Bale was originally meant to play the role of Harry Potter, but unfortunately Christian was already in his 40’s and although he tried to look 14 he just couldn’t pull it off（未能圆满完成）convincingly enough in the auditions.

Fun fact – Benedict went undercover as a primary school student for 2 years to get the part.

There are many British actors that did not play in Harry Potter, but it seems as though（感觉好像是）they did because the whole cast is British!

Emma Watson（Hermione Granger）

One part of the main trio（三人）, Hermione Granger was brought to life（演得活灵活现）by Emma Watson when she was only eleven. Just like Radcliffe, Watson spent ten years working on the Potter films that brought her popularity and international recognition （国际知名度）. After the final movie in the series came out in 2011, Watson continued her acting career, starring in movies like My Week with Marilyn, The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Bling Ring. Her next big role came in 2017 when she was cast as Belle in a live-action adaptation（真人版改编）of the Beauty and the Beast. The actress also managed to split her time between acting and studying, acquiring a bachelor’s degree in English literature.

Matthew Lewis stunned everyone（令人难以置信）with his incredible ‘glow-up’ as the Harry Potter films were ending as he looked nothing like the kid that we all watched at the beginning of the series.

The actor has since made himself known （使自己出名） outside the Potter world by playing Jamie Bradley in The Syndicate and Corporal Gordon “Towerblock” House in the BBC Three comedy drama Bluestone 42. As of 2019, Lewis has reportedly wrapped up work（完成了工作）on a comedy titled Baby Done where he plays a character named Tim.

The main star of the series, Daniel Radcliffe, jumped into the role in 2000 after he auditioned(试镜）at the age of eleven. Radcliffe basically grew up on the series, spending ten years working on eight films that brought him fame, fortune (名声、财富（经常用在一起）, and praise from critics.

Since then he has been in a few films that I personally thoroughly enjoyed （非常喜欢）:

Guns Akimbo and Escape from Pretoria.

Jamie Waylett didn’t have such a good time after the Harry Potter trilogy ended. He actually ended up（最终）going to prison for 2 years for taking part in a riot. Since then he’s been lying low （一蹶不振）.

Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory)

Robert quite possibly（很可能）has had the best career out of the whole cast （全体演员）,now he is more well known for his role asEdward Cullen in Twilight. It was recently announced that Pattinson will portray the iconic role(扮演这标志性的角色）of Bruce Wayne a.k.a Batman in the upcoming movie. Not bad.

I heard the movie is going to be released again in Chinese cinemas for people to re-enjoy. I’m not sure if I would go personally, but I know a lot of people will.
